New instructions regarding Pakistani airspace issued for European aircraft
In view of the possible security threats to the planes, the European Union Safety Agency (EASE) has issued a new directive to the European airlines regarding Pakistani airspace. EASA issued instructions on its website to European airlines regarding the potential threat to Pakistani airspace, asking European airlines to exercise caution when flying over Karachi and Lahore. EASA says that there is a risk of the planes being targeted by anti-aircraft within the limits of these airspaces. Due to the ongoing conflict in Kashmir, caution has also been directed while passing through the airspace of Lahore. EASA has asked European airlines to keep planes above 26,000 feet as a precaution. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency issued similar instructions in November last year and said that the planes should fly 24,000 feet above Pakistan.
